Your notary profile contains all the information about you that is legally required for a legally binding remote notarization:
- Your basic personal details
- Notary details
- Digital certificates and seals
- Your notarization certificates
Pre-Filled Information
When you register with the OneNotary platform, you submit your initial notary information through the application form. The OneNotary team verifies your information through the secretary of state website and creates a notary account for you.
From the start, the created account contains your personal information and notary details that correspond to the information on the secretary of state website as read-only. If for some reason you need to change that information, please contact us at support@onenotary.us

Required Information
To complete your application, you will need:
- The digital certificate for eNotary services
- eNotary seal
- Set of notarization certificates: Acknowledgment and Jurat
We strongly recommend getting these digital documents before you begin your OneNotary application.
Digital Certificate
To digitally seal your notarizations, you will need a digital certificate for eNotary services. You can buy a digital certificate from IdenTrust. This will be valid as long as your notary public commission is valid.
When you purchase a Signing Digital Certificate from a trusted provider, it is usually stored on your computer. Before using your certificate in the OneNotary platform you would need to create a backup version of the certificate and then upload it.
Backup creation varies depending on the digital certificate provider and the computer you use. For more specific guidance, please check:
- How to export IdenTrust digital certificate on MacOS
- How to export IdenTrust digital certificate on Windows (Google Chrome Browser)
When you upload this certificate, you will use your digital certificate password.

eNotary Seal
This is a digital representation of the notary stamp. It must contain all the information that your physical notary stamp contains including your full name, state of commission, and commission expiration date. We accept eNotary seals in PNG format only. For more details please check the eNotary Seal Requirements
Your Notary Certificates
For your convenience, we store copies of your certificates and seal with your OneNotary profile. You can instantly attach a certificate to any document with the click of a button.
The preferred notarization certificate format is PDF. We also accept certificates in DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, SVG, BMP, JPG, PNG, and TIFF.
