OneNotary platform conducts remote format notarizations, where all participants in front of the notary sign documents simultaneously during online sessions.
As a participant, it's essential to ensure that both you and your computer are ready, as well as your payment method and all other participants.
Online Notarization Checklist
Requirements | Description |
Your Computer | For a smooth experience, ensure that each participant has an individual computer equipped with functioning audio, webcam, and microphone. We recommend using Google Chrome (versions 114-121) or Apple Safari on a computer or laptop, whenever possible. You may use your smartphone, but make sure to have a stable internet connection and at least 4GB of RAM to avoid technical difficulties. |
Documents | Upload documents you need notarized in PDF format. You can upload up to 16 documents within a single session. Don't sign your documents before your online session. |
Number of participants | Up to five signers and/or witnesses, excluding a notary, can join a remote online notary session. Simply list the additional signers/witness's emails on the first screen when completing the session information. |
Identity verification | Before the session, the participant's identity will be verified electronically by the platform. OneNotary uses the following criteria to verify a signer's identity and to comply with current remote online notarization state laws. All signers must have: 1) a valid photo ID. You may use a Passport, driver's license, or state-issued ID. |
Payment Method / Credit Card | It is essential to turn off LifeLock and other credit-freezing programs prior to this process. They cause identity verification or payment failure. You can turn these programs on again once the session is complete. |
