To ensure that the online notarization process is secure and authentic, all participants must complete an Identity Verification.


To complete the Identity Verification process, you need to complete two steps:


1. 
Proof of identity with Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA)

  • Enter a U.S. Social Security Number that is at least two years old and a U.S. address. 

  • Answer the generated questions


2. Submit Photo ID Verification


You can use your passport, driver's license, or state-issued ID.



Please note

Identity verification is valid for only 12 hours. 
All participants must connect to the notary session within 12 hours. If this is not done, participants will be prompted to start the process again with 1. above.

For certain online sessions, you may also have the option to use Biometric Identity verification. The OneNotary platform will inform you if you are eligible for this method.
